Owensboro, Ky. – Evan Oakley has been named the G-MAC South Division Pitcher of the Week for his outing last Friday vs. Findlay at Panther Park.
In that 12-1 victory over the Oilers, Oakley recorded a career-high 13 strikeouts while allowing just three hits and one unearned run.
The righty moved to 4-0 this season with the win and has gone at least five innings in each of his five starts, giving up just two total earned runs and currently leading the G-MAC with a 0.64 ERA.
Oakley has struck out 39 total hitters in 2025, averaging nearly eight per start and putting him third in the G-MAC in that category so far this season.
The Panthers' ace is the first G-MAC honoree for Kentucky Wesleyan baseball this season and the 13th overall for KWC Athletics in the 2024-25 athletics year.
Oakley and Kentucky Wesleyan baseball is back in action this weekend for a Saturday/Sunday road trip series at Tiffin. The Panthers will play a doubleheader each day starting at 1:00 PM on the Great Midwest Digital Network.
