INDIANAPOLIS, IN. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College wrestling team faced a challenging day at the Greyhound Duals in Indianapolis, on Saturday. Despite a tough overall result, the Panthers had standout performances against Quincy University with the final dual meet score reading Kentucky Wesleyan – 10, Quincy – 34. The Panthers lost to No. 23 Indianapolis and No. 24 Maryville on the day. 

Panthers' Cade Johnson displayed exceptional skill, scoring a major victory 9-1 over Jackson Jones from Quincy in the 165 weight class. Notably, Johnson, usually competing at 157 pounds, wrestled up one weight class to clinch the win. In addition to his victory at 165 pounds, Johnson also achieved a technical fall win, 16-1, at his regular 157 pounds weight class later in the day against Maryville. Johnson records the lone five points in the Panthers match against the Saints. 

In another highlight for the Panthers, Camron Isabel also secured a win by pinning Quincy's Raymond Fernandez at 174 pounds, marking the fall at 4:23. Isabel's performance added crucial points to the Panthers' tally.

Looking ahead, the Panthers will remain in Indianapolis to compete in the Greyhound Open scheduled for Sunday. Competition at the ARC on the campus of the University of Indianapolis is scheduled to begin at 9AM CT.
