COLUMBOS, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's basketball team opened Great Midwest Conference action on Thursday with a loss to Ohio Dominican. A first half defensive battle went the way of ODU in the second half. Dominican took down the Panthers 66-45 inside Alumni Hall. 
 
ODU (4-2, 1-0 G-MAC) held a slim 25-24 lead with six minutes to go in the first half, but after a series of empty possession, the Panthers (4-3, 0-1 G-MAC) managed to tie game at the three-minute mark after a three-point basket from LaVonte Harris. Wesleyan shot 34% from the field in the first half and went into the locker room trailing 32-27. 
 
Dominican was good enough to extend the lead in the second half. In just over two minutes ODU pushed the lead to 14 points and kept the Panthers' stalled the rest of the way. ODU shot 44% from the field in the second half and made 50% of their three points attempts to come away with the victory.
 
Fatih Huyuk finished the game with 14 points and five rebounds. Harris added 10 points and pulled-in six rebounds. 
 
The Panthers will travel to Findlay, Ohio on Saturday to play the Oilers. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 PM CT. The game will be streamed live on Flo College.
