Baseball drops two to Trevecca Nazarene

OWENSBORO, KY - Trevecca Nazarene showed their power on Saturday, hitting five home runs over the course of 4-2 and 11-3 victories.

The Trojans improve to 19-14 (12-6 G-MAC), while Wesleyan falls to 13-20 (11-5 G-MAC).

The opener saw Evan Oakley (2-3) throw 7.1 strong innings, as he allowed just two earned runs and struck out four in the loss. Gabriel Medina and Kyle Werries notched RBI's in the fifth and sixth innings to allow Wesleyan to take the lead, a home run in the seventh and two unearned runs in the eighth from the visitors gave them the win.

Trevecca Nazarene used the long ball well in the second game, as they hit four in the contest. Those long bombs accounted for eight of their 11 runs. The Panthers scored one run in the first, fourth, and fifth innings to keep it close, but Trevecca's power was too much to overcome. Isaac Rose (2-3) struck out three in the loss.

For the day, Braxton French was great at the plate, going 4-for-7 with three doubles, two RBI's and a run scored.

The Panthers will look to even the series tomorrow when they host the Trojans for the final two games of the series. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
