PAINESVILLE, OH - The Panthers held leads in both games on Friday, but big innings by Lake Erie helped them come back to win 5-4 in the opener and 5-2 in the second game.
Lake Erie improves to 13-12 (5-5 G-MAC), while Wesleyan falls to 9-18 (7-3 G-MAC).
In the opener, The Panthers held a 4-0 lead after three, before Lake Erie came back to tie things up in the fifth. A run in the bottom of the ninth gave them the win.
The Panthers again jumped out to a lead in the second game, going up 2-0 early. The Storm came back yet again, and three runs in the fifth were the difference in the ball game.
Despite the loss,
Cade Moore was fantastic at the plate, as he went 5-for-8 with one RBI and three runs scored. He opened up game two with a solo home run, his third of the year. Also hitting a home run was
Kyle Werries, who's two-run shot put Wesleyan up 4-0 in the opener.
Bryant Byrd (0-2) took the game one loss, while
Isaac Rose (1-2) struck out six in the game two loss.
Wesleyan has a chance to tie the series tomorrow as they face the Storm in another doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
