Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team led wire-to-wire on their way to a 94-51 triumph over the Simmons Falcons on Thursday night inside the Owensboro Sportscenter.

The Panthers got off to a quick start vs. the in-state opponent, scoring the game's first 10 points on two threes and two dunks.

Simmons got on the board with a jumper, but Wesleyan then scored the next seven points, including Kennedy Miles' second three, to extend their lead to 17-2.

The Panthers continued with similar play for the rest of the half, taking a 50-21 lead into halftime. Wesleyan shot nearly 45% from three in the first half (8-18) and outrebounded the Falcons 29-15 with a 12-4 advantage on the offensive glass.

Simmons kept battling to begin the second half, keeping the deficit around 30 for the first 10 minutes. After a cold start to the half, the shots began falling for the Panthers as Logan McIntire drained back-to-back threes to keep the Falcons at bay.

The Panthers ultimately took home a 94 - 51 win, tallying their first win of the 2024-25 campaign. The home team shot nearly 50% from the field (38-77), had a 52-29 rebound advantage, and tallied 28 assists on their 38 made shots.

McIntire had a team-high 16 points, shooting 4-7 from deep and adding five rebounds and four assists, while Edward Jones Jr. was right behind him with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Miles and transfer guard Quentin Toles joined them in double figures with 11 points each, with the former recording seven assists and a team-high three steals on the night. Fatih Huyuk led the rebound category with 10 and added eight points to his ledger.

The Panthers are back home on Wednesday, November 20, for a matchup versus IU Southeast. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM inside the Sportscenter.
