Ashland, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team was defeated by the score of 16-25, 14-25, 20-25 against Ashland on Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers fell to 0-24 overall and 0-13 in the G-MAC, while the Eagles improved to 18-9 overall and 11-3 in the G-MAC.
Ashland led wire-to-wire in both the first and second sets, quickly taking a 2-0 lead against Wesleyan.
The Panthers showed fight in the third set, at one point being down 11 before cutting the Eagles lead to 24-20 with the help of an impressive service run by Juliana Greaney that included two aces. Ultimately, Ashland earned the next point to down Wesleyan in a sweep.
Havanah John recorded a team-high kills while Grace Carter added five and Kamryn Parlin added four. Sydney Kennedy, in just her second game of the season, landed the first two aces of her career.
Gracie Newton controlled the net with three blocks, and Parlin was all over the floor with nine digs.
Julia Kupper continued her stellar campaign, recording 22 assists, five digs, a kill, and a block on the afternoon.
The Panthers have two matches left in the 2024 season, with both being home matches and the first being against Findlay on Friday, November 15. First serve is set for 11 AM inside Jones Gym.
