LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College wrestling team stepped-up a division on Friday night to face-off with Bellarmine University. The NCAA Division I Knights downed the Panthers 49-0.
The dual started at 125 pounds where Damion Ryan defeated
Bryson Rowley. Dealing with a bug this week was
Matthew Velasco at 133 pounds. Velasco gave-up two takedowns in the match and lost to Trayce Eckman 7-3.
At 141 pounds
Gabe Adams provided offense against Chase Hall. Hall led the match 3-1 after the opening period. An early escape by Hall in the second increased the lead to 4-1, but Adams tied the match with his first takedown of the night.
Another escape by Hall followed by a takedown gave the lead back heading into the final period. Hall would eventually win a 15-9 decision over Adams.
The Panthers will host the fifth ranked McKendree Bearcats on Tuesday evening. The match is scheduled at Jones Gym is scheduled to start at 6PM CT.
