OWENSBORO, KY - Playing in one of their final home events of the year, the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers Men's and Women's tennis teams each fell 7-0 to Cedarville on Friday afternoon.
The women's team was highlighted by a 6-2 win from
Lesleigh Lowman and Cameron Blandford at #1 doubles.
Ashton Frantz and
Allie Mitchell competed well, but fell 6-4 in a tightly contested contest. Lowman fell 6-3, 6-1 at #1 singles, Blandford lost 6-0, 6-2, Frantz lost 6-0, 6-0, and Mitchell fell 6-0, 6-3.
On the men's side, the #1 doubles team of
John Thomas Hayden and
Dylan McDuffee fell 6-2, while Evan Mortan and
Lucas Holder dropped their #2 doubles match by the same score.
Kevin Giron and
Wesley Matthews lost at #3 doubles 6-0, 6-0.
John Thomas Hayden competed well at #1 singles, but dropped his match 6-1, 6-3. The rest of the Panthers couldn't quite find their groove, each falling in similar fashion in #2-6 singles.
Both tennis teams compete in their final home match tomorrow when they take on Ashland at 1:00 PM at Centre Court.
