OWENSBORO, KY - Facing the #5 Indianapolis Greyhounds, the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers fought hard, but fell 2-1 and 8-0 in a Thursday evening doubleheader.
Indianapolis moves to 30-4 (10-2 GLVC) while the Panthers fall to 10-24 (3-3 G-MAC).
Game One
The Panthers played the Greyhounds extremely tight in game one, falling just 2-1 to the number #5 Greyhounds.
After a run in the first by the Greyhounds, the Panthers tied things up in the in the bottom of the second on an RBI single from
Mikayla Benson to score
MaKenna Page.
Indianapolis scored the winning run in the top of the fifth and held the Panthers scoreless the rest of the way to secure the win.
MaKenna Page went 1-for-3 with a run score while
Mikayla Benson went 1-for-1 with an RBI and a walk.
Cameron Hamilton (3-9) allowed just three hits in the loss.
Game Two
Indianapolis scored seven runs in the final three innings to pull away from the Panthers in game two.
Meryck Hardley went 2-for-2 with a walk in the game.
Calysta Crum,
MaKenna Page, and
Hannah Scheberle each went 1-for-3.
Mary Morgan (7-6) went all seven innings in the loss.
The Panthers get back into G-MAC action this weekend when they face Findlay on Friday and Tiffin on Sunday in conference doubleheaders. First pitch on both days is scheduled for 12 p.m.
