OWENSBORO, KY - Ursuline used big first innings in both games to take down the Panthers 7-3 and 7-0 in Friday afternoon's doubleheader at Foster Field.
Ursuline moves to 13-21 (11-9 G-MAC) while the Panthers fall to 12-36 (5-15 G-MAC).Â
Ursuline scored five runs in the first inning of game one and didn't look back, never relinquishing their lead en-route to the 7-3 victory. Down 7-0 in the fifth inning, Wesleyan used doubles from
Calysta Crum and
MaKenna Page to cut the lead to four, but couldn't plate a runner the rest of the game.
Four runs by the Arrows in the opening inning of game two was too much for KWC to overcome, as they fell 7-0 to their foes from the north.
Mary Morgan (8-13) took the loss in game one while
Grace Scott (1-11) struck out four in a game two loss.
Hannah Scheberle,
Meryck Hardley,
Calysta Crum, and
MaKenna Page each recorded two hits on the day, while Page led the way with two RBI's.Â
The Panthers will be back at home tomorrow to take on Lake Erie in their final games of the season. Seniors
Lacie Mills,
Mikayla Benson, and
Cameron Hamilton will be honored after game two. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
