SANDUSKY, OH - Still in the hunt for a conference playoff spot, the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers picked up two big wins on Thursday afternoon, taking down Ashland 8-1 and 9-1 to jump back into sixth place in the conference standings.
KWC moves to 12-28 (5-7 G-MAC) while the Eagles fall to 0-10 (6-17 G-MAC).
Game One
It was a defensive battle for the first six innings of the first game, with Ashland leading 1-0 heading into the final inning. Needing to score just one run to keep the game alive, the Panther offense came alive and scored eight runs in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
After two straight errors to put

Hannah Scheberle on base,
Augusta Garr hit an RBI single to score pinch runner
Lacie Mills and tie the game.
Calysta Crum hit an RBI single on the next at bat, which was followed by a 2 RBI triple from freshman phenom
MaKenna Page.
Mikayla Benson continued the onslaught with an RBI single to score Page, which was followed a few batters later by an RBI ground-rule double from
Mary Morgan.
Hannah Scheberle rounded out the scoring with a 2 RBI single near the end of the inning.
Augusta Garr,
Calysta Crum and
Sarah Linville all recorded who hits in the game, with
Hannah Scheberle and
MaKenna Page tallying two RBI's.
Mary Morgan (8-9) went the distance, striking out a career high nine batters in the win.
Game Two
The Panthers scored with more balance in game two, scoring in four of their five innings to get the 9-1 win.
Hannah Scheberle scored Wesleyan's lone run of the first inning thanks to a fielding error by the shortstop.
KWC scored two more runs in the third thanks to RBI's from
Calysta Crum and
Mary Morgan.
Hannah Scheberle flew around the bases in the top of the fourth to score two runs on an inside the park home run, the first HR of her career.
Weseyan picked up some insurance runs in the fifth thanks to a 2 RBI inside the park home run from
Mary Morgan, a
Grace Scott RBI triple, and an
Augusta Garr bases loaded hit-by-pitch.
Mary Morgan went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI's and a run scored in the win.
Grace Scott (1-9) picked up her first win of the season with a five inning, six hit and six strikeout performance.
The Panthers keep it on the road this weekend when they head to Hillsdale to take on the G-MAC's third place team. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
