LAKELAND, FL - The Panthers dropped their second straight game to the Florida Southern Mocs on Tuesday night, falling 8-2 to their foes from down south.
Florida Southern moves to 9-6 on the season while the Panthers now sit at 0-8.
Down 4-0 midway through the game,
Ben Wilcoxson singled to left center to score
Jaret Humphrey and
Kyle Richardson to cut the Moc's lead in half. Wesleyan couldn't plate another run, however, and the Mocs scored four more runs in fifth and sixth innings to take the game by the six-run margin.
Wesleyan used a different pitcher each inning, with
Nate Cunningham,
Drake Hamil, and
Ike Speiser all throwing no-hitters in their innings pitched.
Rylan Thomas (0-2) took the loss for the Panthers.
Wesleyan will take a day off before they head to Saint Leo, Fl. on Thursday to take on the Saint Leo Lions. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. CT.
