BOLIVAR, MO - Ranked #10 in the country, the Drury Panthers were out for revenge against Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday. After falling to KWC last season, Drury went after the Panthers today, winning the game by a final score of 95-58.
Wesleyan played the first and fourth quarters well, only being outscored by one (41-40) in those frames. The middle two quarters were their kryptonite, as Wesleyan was outscored 28-9 and 26-9 in the second and third quarter.
Tahlia Walton led the way for the Panthers, scoring 10 points on 4-8 from the field. Also playing well was
Mariah Edmonds, who shot 4-7 to finish with nine points.
Cali Nolot led the way with four boards, while Edmonds,
Reeva Hammelman, and
Myah Montgomery each notched two assists.
Wesleyan didn't shoot terribly, going 21-49 (43%) from the field and 7-19 (37%) from three, but turnovers were their issue as they coughed it up 29 times in the game.
The Panthers will have a chance to right the ship tomorrow as they face the host Southwest Baptist. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. CT.
