OWENSBORO, KY - The Kentucky Wesleyan men's golf team shot rounds of 299-307 (606, +30) to take eighth at their own tournament this weekend. The "B" team improved by 15 strokes on their second day to finish with a 649 (+73).

Tyler Nickol shot rounds of 68-74 to tie for seventh with a 142 (-2). This marks the third straight tournament that Nickol has finished in the top ten. Also playing extremely well was sophomore Evan Beery, who finished at one-over par with rounds of 73-72 (145), which placed him in 16th. Jonah Graham improved by two strokes in his second round (78-76) to tie for 38th with a 154 (+10).

Playing in Wesleyan's "B" group, Ayden Gillilan and Ethan Lucas each improved tremendously in their second round to move up in the individual standings. Gillilan shot rounds of 85-75 to finish with a 160 (+16) while Lucas shot rounds of 85-76 to close with a 161 (+17). Freshman Harrison Sallee's opening round score of 77 gave him a solid start and allowed him to finish with a 162 (+18). Nicholas Johnson shot rounds of 80-85 to finish with a 165 (+21), while Sam Greenwell, playing in his first tournament as a Panther, came through with score of 85-81 to tally a 166 (+22). Micah Smith scored rounds of 85-85 for a 170 (+26) while Evan Schumacher scored a 172 thanks to rounds of 82-90 (+28). 

The team title went to McKendree, who defeated Southern Indiana in a one-hole playoff after each team shot a 565 (-11). Wisconsin-Parkside's Steven Sanicki took medalist honors with a 139 (-5), thanks to rounds of 69 and 70. 

This closes the fall portion of the Panther's schedule and they will pick things back up in the spring for the championship portion of their season.
