OWENSBORO, KY - A 1-0 halftime lead wasn't enough on Thursday night as Findlay scored two goals in the second half to take down the Panthers in Owensboro.
With the win the Oilers move to 5-1-1 (4-0-1 G-MAC) on the season while the Panthers fall to 3-4 (0-3 G-MAC).
The Panthers opened the scoring early, with
Madisyn Hunt putting away a breakaway shot off a perfect pass from
Elizabeth Collier. Even though the Findlay offense put up 14 shots in the half, the Panther defense held strong and KWC went into the break up 1-0.
The Oilers tied things up five minutes into the second half on a chip from Sam Francis. The Panthers were only able to muster up two shots in the second half and Findlay won the game on a goal in the 78th minute by Sage Schnell.
Hunt had six of the Panther's seven shots in the match, including the only shots on goal. Hunt's goal was her fifth of the season while Collier recorded her first career assist.
Findlay led the way in shots (18-7) and shots on goal (7-2).
Goalie
Reegan Garrity made five saves in the match.
The Panthers head to Tiffin, OH this weekend to take on the Dragons in G-MAC action. Opening kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET.
