EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College baseball team saw its eight-game winning streak snapped while the University of Southern Indiana pushed their winning streak to eight games on Wednesday evening. One big, two-out rally cost the Panthers as the Screaming Eagles came away an 11-6 non-conference win.
The Panthers (11-4) opened the game in seemingly routine fashion.
Cody Bridges leads off with a single and came around to score with two outs on
Ian Ellis' double to right field. The Screaming Eagles answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 2-1 lead.
The bats were not quiet as Wesleyan scored twice in the top of the second inning, with a two-out rally of their own.
Ben Wilcoxson and
Lane Kennemore each drove-in runs, but the Panthers left two runners on base.

Jaret Humphrey's single in the top of the third to give the Panther a 4-2 lead. USI would score six runs on four hits, all with two outs in the bottom of the third to take an 8-4 lead.
Bridges would drive in a run in the fourth while Wilcoxson would do the same in the fifth to narrow the Screaming Eagle lead to 8-6. USI would add insurance with a run in the fifth, seventh, and eighth inning to take an 11-6 lead. The Panthers left the bases loaded in the ninth.

Rylan Thomas completed three innings allowing one earned run on three hits with a strikeout. Bridges collected two hits and an RBI while Wilcoxson was three for four with a triple, two RBIs, and a stolen base.
