TIFFIN, Ohio – The defense shined for the Kentucky Wesleyan College football team on Saturday afternoon. However, the Panthers suffered a 21-0 loss to Tiffin University in a bruising contest that featured only 350 yards of total offense combined.
The Dragons scored on their second possession of the game. Wesleyan saw its drives stall in the first 15 minutes. In the Panthers (0-3 GMAC) first possession of the second quarter, they moved into scoring position. At midfield Wesleyan converted on a third and 12 with an 18-yard completion from
Chauncey Greer to
Gavin George. Three plays later the Panthers were on the Tiffin 23 and setting up for a field.
Chris Mangold saw his attempt blocked as the game went to halftime with the Panthers trailing 7-0. Both offenses struggled in the second half as Tiffin scored once in the third and once in the fourth to insure a victory.
The Dragons finished with 199 yards of total offense, including 83 yards rushing on the day.
Jalen Humphrey finished the game with six tackles.
Jalen Wilson also made six tackles. Greer threw for 67 yards while rushing for 22.
The Panthers will host Walsh on Saturday. Kickoff at Steele Stadium is scheduled for 12 PM.
