NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team dropped a double-header with Walsh University on Monday afternoon. The Panthers fell in the opener 8-4 before a 4-3 dramatic loss in the finale.
Evyn Hendrickson produced another stellar outing in the loss.
Game 1: KWC 4, Walsh 12
The Panthers (5-12, 1-3 GMAC) scored the first run of the game in the top of the second inning as back-to-back singles to started the frame got a runner into scoring position. Hendrickson drove-in
Madison Scott with a double. The lead was short-lived as the Cavs (12-8, 2-2 GMAC) plated two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Walsh opened-up a bigger lead in the bottom of the fourth as errors assisted in allowing baserunners and prolonging the inning. The Cavilers scored five in the frame to take a 7-1 lead.
Meryck Hardley started a three-run rally in the top of the fifth with a one-out double.
Macy Flanigan followed with a walk while
Madison Scott drove-in a run with a single.
Grace Scott doubled and two more runs scored before the end of the inning.
The Cavs added an insurance run in the sixth.
Madison Scott finished three for four with a RBI.

Grace Scott, Hardley each finished with two hits. Hendrickson completed all six innings allowing eight runs, five earned on five hits with 12 strikeouts.
Game 2; KWC 3, Walsh 4
The Cavs opened game two with two runs in the bottom of the first. After that
Grace Scott kept hanging zeros on the scoreboard. Scott settled-in and got through the fifth trailing 2-0. The Panthers looked to steal a victory in the sixth with a little two-out magic.
With one on and two out,
Grace Scott drove in the first run of the inning with a RBI single. LaSala followed with a two-homerun to give Wesleyan a 3-2 lead. An error allowed the bottom half of the inning to continue long enough for the Cavs to score two more runs. After a clean seventh the Cavs completed the sweep.
Scott completed six innings allowing four runs, three earned on 13 hits with one strikeout.
The Panthers will host Ohio Valley on Friday afternoon. The double-header at Foster Field is scheduled for 12 PM
