INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College wrestling suffered two losses in the stacked field at the Greyhound Duals on Saturday. The Panthers fell to in-state rival Bellarmine 46-3 before taking a 42-6 loss from Wisconsin Parkside.
The Knights (5-5) picked-up three pins and a major decision in their win over the Panthers (4-12).
Adam Bender took a narrow 7-4 decision at 125-pounds while
Kairus Washington earned the lone win. Washington shut-out Charile Cadell 6-0 in the heavyweight match.
The Rangers' (7-6) victory was noted by a pin, technical fall, and major decision. The Panthers recorded two decisions on the day the first coming from
Andy Santana at 149-pounds. Santana defeated Nathan Hensley 5-4 in defensive match.
Washington was not scored upon all day. In his second match against Nate Lloyd, Washington earned a 4-0 decision. On the season Washington improved his record to 13-7.
A select few will participate in the Greyhound Open on Saturday. Competition on the campus of the University of Indianapolis is scheduled to start at 9 AM CT.
