OWENSBORO, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team equaled its longest winning streak of the season on Tuesday evening. The Panthers defeated Salem 103-60 for their 13
th consecutive win and their 33
rd consecutive win at the historic Sportscenter.
The newly minted 17
th ranked team in the nation, the Panthers (26-1) put unselfish basketball on display throughout the night. Wesleyan dished out 27 assists throughout the game while
Lily Skye Grimes accounted for six assists. The Panthers led 24-16 after the first quarter, but opened the game up before halftime.
In just over five minutes of the second quarter, the Panthers nearly tripled their lead.
Keelie Lamb ignited a 17-2 run to start the frame.
Emma Johnson capped off the rally with a steal and lay-up giving the Panthers a 41-18 lead. Wesleyan outscored Salem (8-17) 26-9 in the second and went into the locker-room with a 50-25 lead.

Wesleyan scored the first 18 points of the third quarter to build a 68-25 advantage. The run featured eight field goals, with six different players recording an assist or more. The Panthers led 79-41 after three and coasted in fourth.
Lamb finished with 21 points, four rebounds, and two blocks. Johnson was six of eight from the floor to add 17 points.
Jordyn Barga came off the bench to supply the Panthers with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Kaylee Clifford ended the game with 10 points and five rebounds. Wesleyan finished shooting 54% from the field, 70% in the third quarter alone.
The Panthers will travel to Tiffin on Saturday for the final Great Midwest game of the regular season. Tip-off against the Dragons is scheduled for 12 PM CT.
