Wesleyan Posts 20th Win of Season

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team posted their 20th win of the season on Thursday night, defeating Ursuline College by a score of 96-58 in Great Midwest action. With the win, the Panthers become the fastest team to reach 20 wins in program history.

Wesleyan knocked back nine threes in the opening frame to jump out to a commanding 31-9 lead.  The Panthers went on an 18-0 run in the first quarter which would stand as their best scoring run of the game.

The Panthers were outscored in the second and third quarters but still held a 19 point lead entering the final frame.  Wesleyan kept their foot on the gas, shooting 72.2% in the final ten minutes and outscoring the Arrows 32-13.

Tahlia Walton scored a career-high 22 points off the bench with 15 coming in the fourth quarter.  Keelie Lamb was right behind at 19 points and Leah Richardson with 15.  Both Lamb and Richardson shot a perfect four-for-four from beyond the arc.  Emma Johnson finished with 15 points as well.

Richardson grabbed a team-high nine rebounds while Lily Skye Grimes paced the team with nine assists.  Walton and Kaylee Duncan both recorded two steals.

The Panthers shot 53% on the night including 15 three's.  Wesleyan forced the Arrows into 21 turnovers while outscoring them in the paint 38-30.

Wesleyan closes out the northwest Ohio road trip on Saturday, taking on Lake Erie.  Tip off is set for 2 pm CT in Painesville, Ohio.
