OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College baseball team scored a season-high 19 runs on Wednesday afternoon, downing Oakland City University 19-2. The 17-run win almost marks the highest victory margin in over two years as Wesleyan defeated Oakland City 26-0 on March 24, 2017.
The Panthers scored four runs in the first off of a pair of home runs. Joseph Burke belted a three-run shot before Ian Ellis knocked a two-out solo home run.
Wesleyan plate five more runs in the second with Lane Kennemore, Cam Curry and Ellis all recording RBI singles.
The third inning saw the Panthers score six runs off of eight hits. Chase Andrews hit a three-run home run before Ben Wilcoxson tabbed a bases loaded single to center, scoring two more.

Curry hit the fourth and final home run of the game for the Panthers in the fourth, a three-run shot to left center.
All nine batters in the Panthers starting line up tallied at least one hit. Curry finished three-for-five at the plate with five RBI's and three runs scored. Ellis and Kennemore tabbed three hits while Wilcoxson and Burke recorded two.
Ryan Hundley picked up his second win of the season, going 5.0 innings with five strikeouts, three hits and two runs. Benton McGill threw 1.0 inning with one strikeout, one hit and holding the Mighty Oaks scoreless. Curry pitched the final inning, striking out all three batters he faced.
