OWENSBORO, KY. – A day after suffering a walk-off defeat the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team experienced the savored the thrill of a walk-off victory on Thursday evening. The Panthers fell 2-1 to Tiffin University in game one. However,
Lexie Mullen connected on a three-run walk-off homerun to give Wesleyan a 5-3 victory in the series finale. Mullen now stands alone as the Panthers' all-time career homerun leader.
Game one: Tiffin 2, Kentucky Wesleyan 1
The Dragons (14-11, 6-4 G-MAC) managed two runs in the series opener, but it was enough to spoil a solid start from
Autumn Grady. Grady pitched a complete game allowing two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.

Wesleyan did not have an answer for Tiffin's Hayley Kobie who was three for three in the opener and accounted for the two runs. Kobie's two-out, two-run double in the top of the third turned-out to be the difference in the game. The Panthers cut the Dragons' lead in half in the bottom of the fifth, as
Terrilynn Summers scored on an error. Wesleyan could not extend the inning any further as Sarah Klien shut-down the Panthers the rest of the way.
Game two: Tiffin 3, Kentucky Wesleyan 5
Maci Brown pitched around 12 hits in the finale, allowing just three runs on the night. The Dragons scored one in the top of the first inning, but the Panthers erased that tally with one of their own in the bottom of the third.
Meredith Daunhauer drove-in
Andee Powell with a single into centerfield.
Tiffin took a 3-1 lead in the top of the fifth scoring twice with two outs in the frame. The Dragons looked to add more in the top of the seventh as they loaded the bases with no-outs.
Bailey Woodall came-in relief and immediately got a Chelsey Trusty to line into a double play. A harmless pop-out followed to get the Panthers back on offense.
Daunhauer produced a one-out single and advanced to second on a stolen base. The Dragons pitched around
Jaylin Tidwell, walking her on four pitches. As the stage was set for Mullen who crushed a 0-1 pitch over the left-centerfield fence for the walk-off game-winner.
Mullen finished the game two for four with a homerun and three RBIs. The homerun moves Mullen a-top the KWC record books for most homeruns in a career. She surpasses Kaci Ovelgoenner with 22 career homeruns. Daunhauer was three for four with an RBI and stolen base. Woodall picked-up the win with a scoreless inning of relief. Brown allowed three runs, two earned on 12 hits with four strikeouts.
