OWENSBORO, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team clinched a spot in the Great Midwest Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon after an 87-62 victory over Tiffin University. The Panthers showcased a total team effort as the Dragons had no match for the Wesleyan depth and balance.
Every player in the Panthers' (19-3, 15-1 G-MAC) line-up scored on Saturday as Wesleyan held a 22-17 lead after the first quarter. The offensive balanced paid-off in the second frame after the Dragons (7-16, 4-13 G-MAC) cut their deficit to two points, 22-20 early-on. Midway through the frame Wesleyan built a 30-23 lead and continued to apply pressure.

Cali Nolot with less than two minutes in the half gave the Panthers a 39-27 lead. The flurry continued as
Shayla Wright connected on a three-point basket of her own before
Emma Johnson scored five consecutive points to end the half, giving the Panthers a 46-29 lead.
Emma Wolfe's three-point basket gave the Panthers a 29-point lead, their biggest in the third frame before ending the quarter on top 72-44. Wesleyan led by as many as 31 in the fourth as they slowed tempo down slightly to shorten the game.
Kelsey Ivers finished with 12 points and three rebounds while Johnson added 12 points and pulled-in eight rebounds.
Kaylee Duncan came off the bench to add 11 points and eight rebounds.
Kaylee Clifford notched eight points and nine rebounds.
Wesleyan sits atop the Great Midwest standings with six games left on the season. The Panthers sit 15-1 in the G-MAC while Cedarville and Walsh claim a tie for second with identical 13-4 marks.
The Panthers will hit road on Thursday to play Malone. Tip-off is scheduled for 5PM CT.
