OWENSBORO, Ky. – On a wind-swept Foster Field, the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team dropped two games on Thursday afternoon to Drury University. The Panthers fell 3-2 in the opener before DU came from behind to take game two, 4-3.
Game 1: Drury 3, Kentucky Wesleyan 2
The blustery conditions aided in Drury (7-9) scoring the first run of the game in the top of the second inning. The Panthers (10-9) answered in the bottom half as
Courtney Lockwood singled, a throwing error allowed

The tie was broken in the top of the fourth as Drury added another run to its side of the scoreboard. DU tacked-on one more in the fifth to hold a 3-1 lead. The Panthers loaded the bases with two-outs in the seventh.
Maddie Dawson was then hit on Kasey Cazares' offering, cutting the deficit to 3-2. Nevertheless, Cazares got
Jaylin Tidwell to ground out to second to end the game.
Autumn Grady completed 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
Andee Powell finished the game three for three with a run scored.
Game 2: Drury 4, Kentucky Wesleyan 3
The Panthers took charge in the second game.
Delaney Mixer knocked a solo-homerun in the bottom of the second to give Wesleyan a 1-0 lead. In the third Dawson lifted a fly ball into foul territory, after tagging-up,
Meredith Daunhauer never stopped running from second and scored.
Powell drove in another run in the fourth to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead.
Evyn Hendrickson marched into the seventh inning unblemished. After getting the first out, she was relieved with two runners on base. After a single that loaded the bases,
Maci Brown walked-in a run before a triple cleared the bags.
Hendrickson completed 6.1 innings allowing two runs, one earned on five hits with three strikeouts. Daunhauer finished the game two for four with a run scored.
The Panthers will host two more games on Saturday against Oakland City University. First pitch at Foster Field is scheduled for 1 PM CT.
