FINDLAY, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's basketball team finished its season with an 87-56 loss to No. 11 University of Findlay on Thursday night. The Panthers played with a short bench and suffered a sour shooting night.
The Panthers (15-16) rotated six players on the court throughout the majority of the night. The Oilers (26-3) quickly tried to push the tempo and spread the floor. Back-to-back three-point baskets by Taren Sullivan gave Findlay early separation 18-6.
The Oilers' lead quickly multiplied to 31-11 midway through the opening half. The Panthers shot 29% from the floor in the first half while Findlay dropped-in nearly half of their 39 attempts from the floor. The Oilers led by as many as 32 in the first half.
Wesleyan ended the final two minutes of the half on a 14-2 run that cut their deficit to 49-29.
Rasheide Bell connected on three, three-point baskets in the run to intermission. The Panthers played the first 10 minutes of the second half even with the Oilers before Findlay found greater separation down the stretch.
Both Bell and
Evan Milligan finished with 16 points. Bell also dished-out four assists. Milligan grabbed nine rebounds.
