Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

First Half Deficit Too Much for Panthers

PHILIPPI, W. Va. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's basketball team heated up in the second half, shooting 62.5% from the floor, but a first half deficit was too much for the Panthers on Thursday, falling to Alderson Broaddus University 102-81.

Evan Milligan finished with a season high 27 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.  The junior was 12-15 from the floor and a perfect three-for-three from behind the arc.

Wesleyan was in a 17-point deficit at the half, but a 10-2 run over a three minute span put the Panthers within striking distance.  Chandler Redix nailed a three pointer at 8:12 to make it a seven-point game but the Battlers responded with a three of their own.

Another three pointer and a lay up from Milligan kept the Panthers within seven with seven minutes remaining but the Battlers pulled away and never surrendered their double digit lead again.

Brandon Hatton and Amir Warnock also reached double figures in scoring with 18 and 12 points respectively.  Rasheide Bell led the Panthers with four assists while Warnock led the defense with five blocks.

The Panthers head to Elkins, W. Va. on Saturday for their final regular season road game of the season against Davis & Elkins College with tip off set for 1 pm CT.
