OWENSBORO, KY. – All things evened out at the Sportscenter on Wednesday afternoon as the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team produced a balanced attack in an 80-33 victory over Indiana University East. The Panthers never trailed in the wire-to-wire victory and picked-up their seventh win in 10 tries.
Emma Johnson polished-off a 10-0 run to start the game with her lay-up at the six-minute mark of the opening quarter. The Panthers (7-3) outscored the Red Wolves (4-10) 17-2 in the opening period and the wave of momentum continued into the second quarter as
Shayla Wright converted her first of four, three-point baskets to establish a 23-2 lead.
The Panthers ended the first half on another 10-0 run to take a 41-7 lead into the locker-room. Wesleyan hit nearly 50% of their shots in the first half while holding the Red Wolves to two of 17 shooting from the floor.

IUE played more aggressively in the second half, but the Panthers' lead was to great to overcome. Wesleyan forced the Red Wolves into 30% shooting and 32 turnovers on the day. Wright finished the game with 12 points while
Lily Grimes added 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Both
Kaylee Duncan and
Kaylee Clifford each finished with nine points while Duncan picked-up four steals.
The Panthers will return to the hardwood on Saturday, December 29
th when they host Alice Lloyd College. Tip-off at the Sportscenter will be at 12 PM or 30 minutes after the men's contest which starts at 10 AM.
