Kaylee Duncan tallied 14 points on six of eight shooting while
Emma Wolfe grabbed six rebounds.
The contest also served as the season opener for Drury as they matched the Panthers (0-1) early-on. Drury ran out to an early double-figure lead, but Wesleyan chipped away.
Cali Nolot buried a jumper with less than two minutes left in the period to bring the Panthers to within 22-15.
Drury ended the quarter with a 30-17 lead.
Kelsey Ivers started the second frame with a jumper to drop the deficit to 11 points. A three-point play by Duncan followed by two free-throws by Wolfe brought the Panthers back to within eight points, 32-24.
The lead was down to seven points with less than four minutes left in the half, but a 12-0 run by Drury to end the second quarter established a 51-32 lead at the break. Drury made four baskets in the final four minutes of the half, all three-point buckets as Paige Robinson converted three.
The run continued at the start of the second half. When all said and done, Drury was on 28-3 run over the final four minutes of the first half and the first five minutes of the third quarter. Drury maintained its cushion throughout the second half to pick-up a non-conference victory.
Wolfe also reached double-figures on the night as she finished with 10 points to go along with her six rebounds. Drury finished the game shooting 58% from the floor, including 13 of 24 three-point baskets.
The Panthers will play Truman State on Saturday as the G-MAC/GLVC Challenge continues the campus of Trevecca Nazarene. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 PM CT.
