Panthers End Season with Loss to Dragons

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team ended its season on Saturday with a loss to Tiffin University. The Dragons won in straight sets, earning their second win of the season over the Panthers. 

Julia Moran helped the Panthers (14-16, 8-11 G-MAC) get off to quick start as her kill gave Wesleyan a 10-6 lead in the opening set. The Dragons (21-10, 15-4 G-MAC) turned the tide with a 9-0 run. Moran stopped the rally with a kill, but the Panthers faced a 15-11 deficit. 

Both team exchanged points to the finish as Tiffin took a 1-0 lead after a 25-23 victory in the opening game. 

The back-and-forth exchanged continued in the second stanza. Late in the frame the Dragons won four of five points to establish a 20-15 lead and held off the Panthers 25-21 down the stretch. 

Tiffin won the first eight points of the third game and closed out the Panthers 25-13. The Dragons saved their best offense game of the day for last as they hit .444. 

Moran finished with eight kills while Jaylen McEwen added seven kills and 11 digs. Nicole Venema collected 20 digs while Lydia Jackson finished with 16 assists. 

With the Panthers loss coupled with a Ursuline win, Wesleyan falls one game shy of the G-MAC  Tournament.
