OWENSBORO, KY. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team held at least a four point lead in every set on Friday night. However, the University of Findlay would battle back in each frame to take a straight set, Great Midwest victory. 

The Oilers (19-5, 13-2 G-MAC) arrived late for the match-up at Jones Gymnasium. The Panthers (14-13, 8-8 G-MAC) would take advantage out of the gate, scoring the first four points of the match. Wesleyan would hold a 20-16 lead later in the opening frame, forcing a Findlay timeout. Out of the break, the Oilers scored five straight and nine of the next 11 to steal the opening set 25-22. 

The Panthers showcased a five point rally in the second set, to build a 12-8 lead. Alexa Davis produced two kills in the run. Wesleyan held a .267 attacking percentage in the second, but the Oilers would chip away taking a late 18-16 lead. Jaylen McEwen would bring the Panthers within one, but Findlay would win seven of the final eight points to take the second set 25-18. 

The third was back-and-forth throughout, but the Oilers squeaked ahead in the end to end the match 25-21.

McEwen finished with a team best 15 kills on 31 attempts with one error. She held a .452 attacking percentage for the match. Lydia Jackson dished out 17 assist while Nicole Venema recorded 10 digs on the evening. 

The Panthers will host Hilsdale College in the final home match of the season on Saturday. The contest is scheduled to start at 1 PM.
