PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team was in a 14-point deficit at halftime on Thursday and was unable to complete the comeback against Davis & Elkins, falling 78-65 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference quarterfinals.  The Panthers finish the 2016-17 season at 19-8 overall and 8-6 in conference play.
The Panthers led by four halfway through the first quarter thanks to a three-pointer from Addie Reimbold and a jumper from Keelie Lamb.  Davis & Elkins took the lead at the 5:32 mark and never looked back.
Midway through the final frame Kentucky Wesleyan drained four three pointers in a three minute span, including three from Jennifer Walker-Crawford, to cut the deficit to 11 but the Senators protected their lead and held on for the win.
Walker-Crawford led the Panthers with 22 points and grabbed five rebounds.  Reimbold finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Bria Wright led the team with eight rebounds while scoring four.  Erin Dorn and Brittany Wells scored seven points a piece.
The Panthers bench outscored the Senators' by a slim three points, 23 to 20.  Kentucky Wesleyan held the advtange in rebounds, 39 to 32.
