AURORA, IL. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team fell in straight sets on Saturday morning to Quincy University as the Crossover Tournament continued on its second day.
The Panthers (9-14) trailed 13-10midway through the opening set, but took the lead after four straight points. Back-to-back kills by
Gabrielle Gallois gave Wesleyan a 14-13 lead. The Hawks (5-14) answered with five straight points and rushed to finish the frame with a 25-21 advantage.
The first half of the second set went back and forth until the Hawks started to edge ahead again. Leading 12-11 Quincy found momentum and took a 21-14 lead and finished off the set with a 25-19 lead. The Hawks held a .406 hitting percentage in the second frame and did not fall off entering the third.
The Hawks hit .375 in the third and distanced the Panthers 25-13.
Danielle Brouillette finished with eight kills as did Jaylen Mcewen.
Lydia Jackson dished out 16 assists.
