Box Score

Kentucky Wesleyan (0-3) fell for the third time this weekend at the Mariott UAH Classic in Huntsville, Ala. on Saturday afternoon in straight sets to Alabama-Huntsville. The final score in all three sets was (21-25, 19-25, and 22-25).

KWC held a lead early 14-10 in the opening set, but UAH clawed their way back into the set to even the score at 16-16. From there on, the Panthers kept it tight, but were unable to take the lead again resulting in a 25-21 set loss.

The second set was also neck and neck in the beginning stages, after multiple kills at the net by Gabrielle Gallois and Elizabeth Gober. The Chargers would reel off four consecutive points, and continued to build their lead. The set got away from the Panthers after they committed 11 errors.

Kentucky Wesleyan didn't go away easily though, and fought hard in the third set. After winning four straight points, the Panthers found themselves ahead 9-5. They would extend their advantage to 12-7, but then UAH slowly creeped back into the set. Gober's kill later on, gave KWC a 22-21 lead, but the Chargers would win the next four points to end the match.

Gober and Audrey Baysinger each tallied eight kills apiece. Gober finished with four digs, while Baysinger added six, respectively. Nicole Venema led the Panthers in the match with 22 digs. Freshman Kylie Foster collected a team-high 18 assists, and freshman Sierra Morrow registered six kills and a team-high two block assits.

The Panthers will return home and will be back in play this coming Friday, as they play host at Jones Gymnasium for the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational. KWC will play two games on Friday and two on Saturday.
