Kentucky Wesleyan's four game winning streak came to a close on Saturday afternoon, after the Panthers were swept in straight sets at Ursuline in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Panthers are now 6-6 (1-1, G-MAC) on the year. Ursuline won the match 25-23, 25-18, and 25-7.
KWC had an opportunity to win the first set, and posted 18 kills with just two errors. After the Arrows took the opening set, the momentum shifted straight to Ursuline, who won the second and third sets convincingly. The Panthers only produced three kills and committed 10 errors in the final set.
Audrey Baysinger led KWC for the second straight match in kills with eight. Gabrielle Gallois tallied six kills.
Kylie Foster and Courtney Gildea both each accumulated 12 assists apiece. Nicole Venema led the Panthers with 18 digs at the libero position. Sierra Morrow and Elizabeth Gober each recorded one block assist in the match.
The Panthers will play again on Tuesday at Kentucky State in non-conference play. The match is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT.
