Kentucky Wesleyan will play Ohio Valley in the first round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. Kentucky Wesleyan took three out of four from the Fighting Scots in their series meeting in Owensboro back in late March.
The first pitch is set for 2:15 p.m. CT.
Kentucky Wesleyan is the number two seed for the six-team conference tournament. Ohio Valley is the number five seed.
The Panthers are recognized as G-MAC regular season co-champions, but Trevecca won the number one seed based off of a tiebreaker.
KWC is (34-15, 19-5 G-MAC) this season. Kentucky Wesleyan has won 25 out of their last 30 games. The Panthers are one win shy of becoming the winningest baseball team in single-season program history too.
The 1988 Panthers squad won 34 games.
Troy Paris leads KWC's potent offense with team high's in batting average (.413), homeruns (8), RBI's (68), and hits (74). Paris also collected a team-high 23 doubles.
Zach Burton leads the Panthers' pitching staff with eight wins on the season. Burton, a freshman from Owensboro, compiled an ERA of 2.04 with an overall record of 8-3. Burton leads the G-MAC in earned run average and wins.
OVU finished the regular season with an overall record of (14-35, 8-16 G-MAC). The Fighting Scots have won two games in a row.
