The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team will play host to Davis & Elkins on Saturday and Sunday for a four game series at Panther Park. The first game on both Saturday and Sunday will begin at noon, with the second game to follow each day.
The series was originally scheduled to be played in Elkins, WVa, but due to inclement weather, the games were moved to Owensboro.
Kentucky Wesleyan is currently (16-10, 7-1 G-MAC) this year. The Panthers have won seven consecutive games, and boast a home record of 12-3 this year at Panther Park. KWC is also tied for second place in the conference standings with a 7-1 record.
Jacob Snodgrass' batting average of .396 leads the Panthers' offense. Snodgrass has scored a team-high 35 runs, and has collected a team-high 38 hits this season. His batting average this season ranks seventh in the G-MAC.
Troy Paris has recorded a team-high 11 doubles, and is second in the conference in doubles hit this season. Paris also holds a .337 batting average, and has produced 33 hits this year.
Pitcher Zach Burton has a record of 5-2 this season, and leads the Panthers' pitching staff with an ERA of 2.04. Burton has the third-best ERA in the conference.
Sammy Holder also holds a record of 5-2 from the mound this season. His ERA is 3.11, and he has struck out 39 batters, which is fourth best in the G-MAC.
Evan Mohr remains perfect from the mound this year with a 4-0 record. He has also struck out 24 batters this season.
Davis & Elkins enters this weekend with a record of 6-20. The Senators are also 0-4 this season in conference play. D&E has also dropped their past eight contests.
