Kentucky Wesleyan split their home finale doubleheader on Friday afternoon at Panther Park in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Panthers are now (32-13, 17-3 G-MAC) on the season.

Game one

Friday afternoon marked the final time the Panthers would take the field at Panther Park this season. Six seniors would also wear the purple and white uniform for the final time.
Cedarville for the third straight game scored in the top of the first. The Yellow Jackets also scored two runs in the inning off a throwing error.

The Yellow Jackets came to play, and added on to their lead with a solo homerun in the top of the third for a 4-0 lead.

Kentucky Wesleyan finally got their offense rolling with three straight singles to load the bases up in the top of the fourth.

The Panthers had no outs, but fell victim to three straight outs on a line-out, a fielder's choice, and then a fly-out to left.

KWC also had runners on the corners in the fifth inning, but once again, the Panthers were unable to bring anyone home. The Panthers had runners on base in the seventh, but only scored one run.

Kentucky Wesleyan left 10 base runners stranded, and only totaled six hits altogether as a team.

Jacob Snodgrass recorded a team-high two hits in the game, along with the lone RBI in the bottom of the seventh. Troy Paris collected his 20th double of the season too.
Austin Tibbs went all seven innings, but received the loss for the game. Tibbs struck out six in his outing.

Game two

In the second game, neither team was able to get anything going offensively for a majority of the game. Through four innings of play, both squads had just two hits apiece.
Nate Verst and Cedarville's Garrett Baker were in a pitchers battle, as both teams struggled to find baserunners.

With the game tied at 1-1, Nathan Stemle started the bottom of the fifth off with a double to right field. Troy Paris then drew a walk to have two runners on base with nobody out. KWC fell empty again, and failed to score any runs.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Panthers were threatening again. Cody Bridges walked, and Troy Paris singled down the right field line. KWC was unable to move the runners, and the Panthers had 10 base runners stranded through seven innings of play.

Andrew Moralez came in for Verst in the eighth, and took down three batters with ease. Moralez picked up his second win of the season. Verst went seven innings and struck out four.

Andrew Kirkland started the bottom of the eighth off with a single up the middle, and with two outs, Seth Campbell hit a hard line-drive into right to score Kirkland and put the Panthers ahead 2-1.

Ryan Hundley recorded the save in the ninth, and the Panthers took three out of four from the Yellow Jackets. Hundley has now totaled four saves this season.
Nathan Stemle collected a team-high two hits in the game.

KWC will be back in action next week, as they travel to Trevecca Nazarene for a four game series on the road. Kentucky Wesleyan and the Trojans are the top teams in the G-MAC, and will be playing for a conference regular season title.
