Kentucky Wesleyan swept a doubleheader on Sunday at home against Oakland City in non-conference play. The Panthers rolled in game one with an easy 26-0 victory, and also won game two in walk-off fashion 6-5. KWC is now 24-11 on the season, and improves to 19-3 at Panther Park this year.
Kentucky Wesleyan got hot on offense in game one. In the bottom of the second, Adam Brown doubled to start the inning off, and then Andrew Kirkland ripped a two-run homerun to put the Panthers ahead 2-0. Tyler Shewmaker scored off an error, and Nathan Stemle scored after Cody Bridges grounded out to second base.
In the bottom of the third, Stemle hit an RBI single to left scoring Brown, and Kentucky Wesleyan took a commanding 5-0 lead. Bridges recorded his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to left. Tyler Shewmaker scored his second run of the game.
Adam Brown knocked an RBI double to the left field wall with Jacob Snodgrass scoring from first base, and KWC led 7-0.
Bridges connected on his third RBI of the game after a single to right field in the bottom of the fifth, which brought Stemle home. Jeremy Cline then singled to left and the lead expanded to 9-0.
Later in the inning, Adam Brown crushed a grand slam homerun to put the Panthers up 14-0. Kentucky Wesleyan scored 11 runs in the inning and led 18-0 heading into the sixth.
The Panthers would score eight runs in the sixth and led 26-0 as the rout continued. Kentucky Wesleyan had 21 hits in the game as a team.
Freshman Zach Burton won his seventh game on the mound this season. Burton went six innings, and fanned eight. He is 7-2 now on the season.
Adam Brown finished game one going 4-5 with five RBI's. Nathan Stemle went 3-3 with three RBI's and three runs scored. Cody Bridges also contributed with three RBI's.

Oakland City scored three runs in the top of the second and led the Panthers 3-0 after four innings.
The Panthers connected on 21 hits in game one, yet struggled to produce any offense early on in game two.
KWC finally got it going in the fifth, when they loaded the bases up with nobody out. Cody Bridges slapped an RBI single up the middle to cut the lead to 4-1.
With one out in the inning, Troy Paris hit a two-run RBI single, and the Panthers only trailed 4-3 heading into the sixth.
Stemle hit an RBI single to right to tie the game up at 4-4. However, a throwing error by Stemle in the seventh allowed the Mighty Oaks to re-claim the lead at 5-4.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jeremy Cline got on base after getting hit by a pitch. Troy Paris then hit a single, with Cline and Paris both advancing extra bases to second and third. Snodgrass struck out with Adam Brown being the final hope for the Panthers.
Down 1-2 in the count, Brown battled back, and then ripped a walk-off two-run single to score Cline and Paris and win the game.
Evan Mohr started game two for the Panthers, and went four innings. Mohr also struck out five. Mitchell Jones pitched in relief for 2.1 innings, and tossed out four.
Austin Tibbs pitched 0.2 innings, and registered the win.
Kentucky Wesleyan will be back in action on Tuesday, when they play host to Bellarmine. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
