Box Score 2 The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team split a doubleheader at Oakland City on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play. The Panthers won the first game 13-8, but fell in the second game 4-2. With the loss in the second game, KWC's 13 game winning streak comes to a halt. The Panthers are still 22-11 this season.
In the first game, Kentucky Wesleyan had another huge day at the plate. KWC as a team collected five homeruns in the game. Jacob Snodgrass connected on a two-run shot in the fourth, Cody Jackson smacked a two-run shot in the fifth, Troy Paris hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning too. In the seventh inning, Nathan Stemle and Adam brown both hit solo homeruns.
The Panthers totaled twelve hits altogether, as Troy Paris and Cody Jackson led the way for Kentucky Wesleyan. Paris went 3-5 with three RBI's and three runs scored two doubles, and a homerun, while Jackson went 3-4 with three RBI's, and his own three-run homer.
The Panthers scored six runs in the top of the fifth to put the game out of reach.
Nate Verst won the first game as he got the start on the mound. Verst lasted four innings, and struck out four. Mitchell Jones, Ryan Bailey, and Matt Lasley pitched the final three innings. All three pitchers threw one inning apiece.

In game two, the Panthers only mustered five hits in total. Cody Bridges led the Panthers with a 2-3 performance from the plate.
Kentucky Wesleyan led 1-0 after Bridges scored off an error. Â Jeremy Cline scored the second run for KWC in the second. Both of the Panthers' runs in the game were unearned.
The Mighty Oaks scored one run in the second, and took the lead with two runs in the fourth off two hits. Oakland City scored its fourth run of the game in the bottom half of the sixth.
Sammy Holder threw 3.1 innings, and Austin Tibbs pitched the final 2.2 innings of play. Holder was given the loss for the game.
Kentucky Wesleyan will play the final two games of the series at home tomorrow at Panther Park. The first game is scheduled to begin at noon, with the second game to follow.
