The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team won its 12th straight game after defeating Southern Indiana 13-7 at home at Panther Park in non-conference play on Tuesday afternoon.

The Panthers are now (21-10, 11-1 G-MAC) this season, as their winning streak continues to roll right along on. Kentucky Wesleyan is now 17-3 in home games this season as well.

KWC produced 17 hits in total in the game against USI today, and it also marks the 15th time this season that the Panthers have scored at least 10 runs in a single game.

In the first inning, Kentucky Wesleyan's bats came to play. The Panthers scored three runs on three hits and quickly built a small lead at 3-0. Adam Brown connected on a two-run RBI double, and Jeremy Cline singled to bring in the third run.

The Panthers would continue to pour it on offensively with a strong second inning. Troy Paris crushed a grand slam homerun to put KWC up 7-0. Southern Indiana cut the deficit down to three after the Eagles scored four runs on four hits in the bottom of the third.

Still, Kentucky Wesleyan added on to their lead. In the bottom of the third, Jeremy Cline hit a solo homerun to left field, and the Panthers jumped back ahead 8-4. Andrew Kirkland's two-run RBI double to center in the bottom of the fourth, put Kentucky Wesleyan well ahead at 10-4.

Southern Indiana was held scoreless in the fifth and sixth innings. Seth Campbell delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth, as KWC pushed its advantage out to 11-4.

After giving up one run in the top half of the seventh, the Panthers would score two more runs in the bottom half of the inning off a two-run RBI single from Jeremy Cline, as KWC held its largest advantage of the afternoon at 13-5.

USI scored two runs in the eighth, and had the bases loaded up in the bottom of the ninth, but Ryan Bailey preserved the win for the Panthers. The Eagles left 15 runners on base throughout the contest.

For Troy Paris and Jeremy Cline, they each combined for eight RBI's in the contest, splitting four apiece. Cline and Nathan Stemle both recorded three hits in the game. Paris, Cody Bridges, Adam Brown, and Tyler Shewmaker all finished with two hits.

Mitchell Jones started the afternoon off on the mound for KWC. He went 4.2 innings, and struck out four. Austin Tibbs came in for relief, and pitched three full innings. Tibbs struck out three in his outing. Ryan Hundley came in for the final 1.1 innings of play.

The Panthers will be back in play this weekend in a four game series with Oakland City.
