Kentucky Wesleyan fell short to visiting Hillsdale, 12-7 and 4-2, at Panther Park on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Panthers started the contest in the first with a 2-0 lead. Cody Bridges scored on a passed ball followed by Troy Paris RBI single sending Jacob Snodgrass home. The Chargers moved ahead with three in the second.
 
In the third, Jeremy Cline hit a RBI sacrifice fly bring Snodgrass to the plate and Zach Allen had a RBI single to score Adam Brown to go ahead 4-3.
 
Hillsdale responded with two in the top of the fourth. Jimmy Yates tied the score at five with on a ground out double play. The Chargers once again scored two in the fifth and the Panthers came back in the bottom half of the frame.
 
Andrew Kirkland hit a sacrifice fly to left field to drive in Paris. Cline scored on a throwing error for the Panthers seventh and final runs. Hillsdale exploded with five in the eighth for the final tally.
 
Paris collected three hits in five plate appearances and Snodgrass and Yates each had two hits. Austin Tibbs received the loss by pitching three innings and fanning two batters.
 
The closing game neither squad put runs on the board until the second inning with Chargers scoring one and Paris walking home to tie it up at 1-1. Hillsdale added one in the third.
 
The Panthers responded when Seth Campbell hit a RBI double to drive home Yates to make it 2-2 in the fourth. The Chargers pushed two home in the fifth to settle on the final score.
 
Nate Verst threw 5.2 innings producing four strikeouts. Ryan Bailey tossed 1.1 inning with one strikeout in his first loss of the season.
 
The Panthers (7-6) host Urbana in a doubleheader on Monday at noon CT.
