The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team will travel to Westfield, Ind. to compete in the Midwest Regional Crossover on Saturday and Sunday in Westfield, Ind. The Panthers will play four games, playing two each on Saturday and Sunday. The first two games are against Tiffin and Lewis on Saturday. The final two will be against Missouri-St. Louis and Saint Joseph's. Three of the teams represent the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and Tiffin represents the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Saturday's games begin at 12:30 CT and 3:30 CT. Sunday's games are set to begin at 9:30 a.m. CT, and 3:30 CT.
The Panthers are coming off of a doubleheader sweep over Urbana from March 7th where they won both games by scores of 7-1, and 17-0.
Kentucky Wesleyan currently holds a record of 9-6 this season. Jacob Snodgrass and Troy Paris have both collected 19 hits apiece this year for the Panthers, which is a team-high. Snodgrass is hitting .373 from the plate so far this season. Jeremy Cline has hit four homeruns this season for KWC. Pitcher Zach Burton has an ERA of 2.11 after pitching 21.1 innings this season. Saint Joe's is 7-8 this season, and have lost their last two games. The Puma's leading hitter Joshua Handzik, is hitting .429 from the plate. Pitcher Zachary Aring has an ERA of 1.25 in 21.2 innings of work this season. He has also struck out 18 batters this season.
UMSL is 10-1 this year, and have won seven consecutive games. The Tritons have only played in neutral games this season. Justin Buskerus and Tanner Hudson have both collected a team-high 21 hits apiece. Hudson is hitting .457, while Buskerus is hitting .467 this season.
