Women’s basketball looks to bounce back at Oakland City

The Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball team will travel to Oakland City on Tuesday evening for a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. The Panthers are (12-7, 6-3 G-MAC) on the season. Kentucky Wesleyan is coming off a win over Cedarville and tough fought loss to Ursuline from last week.

Oakland City is 8-10 this season. The leading scorer for the Might Oaks is Chelsea Jellison, who is averaging just over 10 points per game. OCU has gone 7-7 in their past fourteen matchups, and have lost their past two contests. KWC leads the series 34-11 all-time against the Mighty Oaks, including a 20 point blowout win at home last season.

Kentucky Wesleyan is only 3-3 on the road so far this season. The Panthers dropped their last road contest against Trevecca in G-MAC play, 54-49. As a team, the Panthers are scoring 65 points each game. Kentucky Wesleyan is also out-rebounding opponents overall this year by a margin of 733-706. The Panthers' defense has also forced 434 total turnovers this season.

Brittany Wells leads KWC in scoring with 12.5 ppg. The junior guard led the Panthers in scoring against Cedarville last week. Jennifer Walker-Crawford is also averaging double figures with 11.6 ppg. She is also Kentucky Wesleyan's leading rebounder with six rebounds per game.

Asia Coates and Jade Mills-Harris both scored in double figures in the Panthers last game against Ursuline. Kentucky Wesleyan has shot over 70% from foul line as a team currently this season, and are averaging at least 14 made free throws per game.
