The Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball team took care of business on Tuesday evening on the road against Oakland City 78-51 in non-conference play. With the win, the Panthers improve to 13-7 on the year, and also improve their record in road games to 4-3. Kentucky Wesleyan also snaps their previous one game losing streak.

Early in the first quarter, both teams were trying to find their offense. The Mighty Oaks led 11-6 late in the quarter, but the Panthers ended the last two minutes of the quarter on a 6-0 run to lead 12-11.

In the second quarter, KWC's offense exploded in the second quarter, and the Panthers out-scored Oakland City 29-12 in the quarter to build a huge lead. Brittany Wells hit a three late in the quarter, to give the Panthers their largest lead at that point, and led 41-23 at halftime.

The Panthers controlled the second half, and continued to run their offense smoothly. KWC out-scored Oakland City 19-12 in the quarter, as their lead continued to increase. Erin Dorn's jumper right before the quarter, put Kentucky Wesleyan up 60-35.

By the time the fourth quarter hit, the game was well in hand. Kentucky Wesleyan went on a 21-3 run from late in the third to midway in the fourth to hold a 68-38 advantage. Jennifer Walker-Crawford scored later on to give the Panthers their largest lead of the entire game at 74-41. Oakland City committed 23 turnovers on the night.

Kentucky Wesleyan shot 47% from the floor as a team. The Panthers' defense held the Mighty Oaks to just 30% shooting. KWC also out-rebounded Oakland City by a wide margin of 47-29. The Panthers scored 34 points off of turnovers throughout the game too. KWC also added 21 second chance points, and produced 39 points from the bench. KWC snatched 10 steals too.

Three Panthers finished in double figures scoring for KWC. Jennifer Walker-Crawford led Kentucky Wesleyan in scoring with 11 points. Sydney Morabito and Katie Miller also added 10 points apiece. All eleven Panther players who saw the floor scored at least three points. Bria Wright and Jill Jones both brought in a team-high seven rebounds each. Katie Miller also dished out a team-high four assists in the contest. Miller also recorded three steals.

Kentucky Wesleyan will be back in action on Friday, when they play host to G-MAC opponent Trevecca at the Sportscenter. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
