Kentucky Wesleyan swept the three-game series against Claflin with an 8-2 victory on Sunday afternoon in Orangeburg, SC.
 
Claflin scored a run in the first before the Panthers responded in the fourth. Troy Paris hit a solo home run to tie the score at one each.
 
Cody Bridges hit a RBI double to send Andrew Kirkland home to put KWC ahead for good in the fifth. In the seventh, Seth Campbell drove in Tyler Shewmaker on a sacrifice fly to extend the advantage to 3-1. Jacob Snodgrass scored the fourth run on an error in the eighth. CU followed in the bottom half to cut the lead to 4-2.
 
The Panthers put the game away with four in the ninth. Campbell cross the plate first on an error. Paris hit a two hit RBI to bring Snodgrass in. Paris scored the final run on a wild pitch.
 
Chance Cornett earned the win. He pitched two innings and had three strikeouts. Zach Burton threw five innings and fanned four batters. Austin Tibbs tossed one inning with two strikeouts. Ryan Hundley pitched the final frame also with two strikeouts.
 
The Panthers (7-4) host Hillsdale in a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.
