Baseball travels to South Carolina for weekend series against Claflin



The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team will travel to South Carolina to play Claflin for a three game series starting on Saturday afternoon. Kentucky Wesleyan will play a double header starting at noon CT on Saturday, and will play one more on Sunday starting at noon CT. The Panthers are recently coming off a two game losing streak, after dropping two contests in Tennessee against Tusculum. Kentucky Wesleyan is currently 4-4 this season. 

Claflin is 4-11 this season, and has lost three straight games. The Panthers are 4-2 at home this season. Claflin has six players who have recorded at least 10 hits this season. Jabari Brown leads the Panthers with a team-high 18 hits, and Michael Kendrick has the highest team batting average with .407. The Panthers have a total of 61 RBI's this season. Elijah McKinnis holds the lowest ERA for Claflin at 4.91.

Adam Brown leads KWC in hitting with an average of .400. Jeremy Cline and Jacob Snodgrass are hitting .381 and .375 as well. Cline hit his second homerun of the season in the second game against Tusculum. Troy Paris leads Kentucky Wesleyan this season with 12 RBI's. He also has posted a team-high three doubles this year.

Evan Mohr holds an ERA of 1.80 after throwing five innings in total. He also has collected two wins on the season. Billy McCoy and Otto Spencer each have ERA's of 0.00 after both throwing 2.1 and 1.0 innings of work this year. Sammy Holder leads the Panthers in strikeouts with 10. Zach Burton has struck out nine, and Austin Tibbs has delivered seven strikeouts in relief.
