Baseball travels to North Georgia for three game series

The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team will head down to North Georgia this weekend for a three game series that begins tomorrow. The first game is set for 2 p.m. CT, while Saturday's and Sunday's games will begin at 1 p.m. CT and noon CT.

The Panthers (3-0) are coming off of a dominating three game sweep from last weekend at home against Lane. Kentucky Wesleyan out-scored Lane 57-4 in the three games combined.

Both Troy Paris and Andrew Kirkland played in each game last weekend and went to the plate twelve times apiece. They are both hitting .500 on the season.

Cody Bridges also started and played in each game against Lane and is hitting .571 this year. Paris collected his first career grand slam from last weekend, and leads KWC with three doubles. Paris also currently holds a slugging percentage of 1.000. Kirkland leads Kentucky Wesleyan with a team-high nine RBI's.

Zach Burton, Sammy Holder, and Evan Mohr all threw four pitched innings apiece last weekend. They have a total combined 15 strikeouts between them. Ten Panther pitchers also currently hold an ERA of 0.00. KWC as a pitching staff has struck out 28 batters this year, and only walked one.  

North Georgia is currently 4-1 this season. The Nighthawks are coming off of their own three game sweep over Carson Newman. North Georgia's only loss of the year came at the hands of Valdosta State in their season opening weekend.

Sam Tidaback leads the Nighthawks with a .524 batting average. He has brought in eight RBI's and has hit two home runs. Trevor Sams is also hitting .409 for North Georgia. He leads the team with five doubles.

Pitcher Brandon Agar has thrown 13 strikeouts this season in just 12 innings of work on the mound. North Georgia has four pitchers including Agar, who hold an ERA of less than 3.00.
