Seven Panthers score in double figures in 114-89 victory over Salem International

Kentucky Wesleyan improved to 6-2 on the season after dominating Salem International 114-89 on Sunday afternoon at the Sportscenter. The Panthers out-scored the Tigers 59-43 in the second half, and have now won 35 consecutive home games.

How it happened
After a strong start in the opening minutes from KWC, the game was seemingly set for a blowout. The Panthers burst out to 25-12 lead after back-to-back three pointers from Brandon Hatton.

The Panthers led by 15 with five minutes left before halftime, but Salem International chipped away on the Panthers' lead, and made it a single-digit game going into the locker room at 55-46.

Sloppy play from Kentucky Wesleyan in the early stages of the second half allowed SIU to still stay within striking distance at 65-60 with under 15 minutes remaining.

However, the Panthers came out of a timeout and took complete control of the contest, starting with a 14-3 run to open up the game at 79-63.

KWC kept their foot on the pedal for the remainder of the half and blew the game wide open. Kentucky Wesleyan's largest lead of the night was 28, at 109-81 after a Sam Williams fast-break three point shot.
 
Inside the box score
Ken-Jah Bosley was one of seven Panther players to finish the contest in double figures scoring. Bosley totaled 22 points with an additional four rebounds and three assists.

Josh Derksen collected a season-high 16 points and nine rebounds, while Adam Stanford scored a career-high 19 points. Stanford also produced five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Jordan Jacks, who was named G-MAC Player of the Week on Monday, registered 19 points and seven boards.

Charles Foster finished the night with a double-double of 13 points and 10 assists. Foster shot a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc, and also had three rebounds and three steals.

Brandon Hatton notched 15 points on 5-8 shooting from three-point range. 15 points is a season-high so far this year for Hatton.

Sam Williams chipped in with 10 points, and Shaakir Lindsey dished out six assists.

The Panthers added 10 steals in the game to go along with 25 points scored off of turnovers. KWC forced Salem into committing 14 turnovers.

Kentucky Wesleyan also scored 56 points inside the paint, with 28 fast break points scored.

KWC shot 63 percent from the floor, and knocked down a season-high 15 three pointers.

Kentucky Wesleyan will return to action next Sunday, when they travel to Illinois-Springfield. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. CT.
